” Private  Cargeeg was seriously wounded at Gallipoli, Turkey and invalided to Australia from the Suez Canal on 29 August 1915, disembarking at Fremantle on 24 September 1915,  when he was immediately admitted to Hospital.  He was subsequently discharged from the Army on 10 July 1916.  At Galliopoli he had suffered a compound fracture of the left femur, which had caused considerable deformity and disability.  Cargeeg’s left leg had shortened by 3 inches due to the wasting of muscles, and he resultantly suffered from Drop Foot.  At the time of wounding, the femur bone was shattered in his left thigh, causing partial paralysis./strong>
